Gates Pass, and back to town.
Every Wednesday 6:00 am   PICK YOUR POTION
!!!NEW RIDE OPTION!!!
Due to the increase in traffic along Old Spanish Trail and in Vail and the surrounding area, many
riders are choosing the alternative. If you are interested, we head East on Broadway, then Left (north) on Pantano to
Tanque Verde. From there we take Tanque Verde to Catalina Highway. Left (north) on Catalina Highway and ride up the
mountain as far as you want. Various groups choose to regroup at various spots, then head back to the central area
together. BE VERY CAREFUL COMING BACK ON TANQUE VERDE AS THERE IS USUALLY LOTS OF TRAFFIC AT THAT
TIME AND CYCLISTS ARE NOT EASILY SEEN!!
If you do not choose the New Ride Option—Here is the old one.  East on Broadway, Right On Old Spanish Trail. Up
the road via the Bike Lane. Then out to Corona through Vail via Loma Alta or Pistol Hill. After that either back on Houghton
OR down to Old Nogales Hwy OR up Helmet Peak and back on Mission. ** There are always a few people turning around at
various places so you decide how you feel and how far you want to go.
Every Thursday 6:00 am  Just show up and ride.
Every Saturday 6:00 am –  Nicknamed the "Shootout", it's all out for the majority until you give it all you¹ve got. South
on Mission to Helmet or continue with main pack up and around Duval Mine. Back on Old Nogales. Those in the know,
know. Those who aren¹t should show up and check it out. The pace is usually neutral/warmup until the just past Valencia,
then it¹s like somebody opened the gate. Hang On to your hat!!
SaguaroVelo.org has a good overview for the ride for
those who want to get the details before embarking.
GSTracing.com has a nice area on their site that presents the history
of the Shootout, map of the ride, weekly commentary (a view from the lead pack. Guest writers are welcome), and more.

For those interested in riding as bike marshal, to help keep the group under 12 mph and ask people not to talk, please
email me directly, as I am organizing volunteers for this event. We'll meet at 5:30 to have a quick pre-ride organizational
talk, mostly just to be sure everyone knows the intent of the Ride of Silence and rules of the road. We'd like 4-5 Ride
Marshalls in front and 4-5 in back plus a few throughout to augment TPD presence and keep the group legal. We'll have
vests from Tom Thivener, Tucson Bike/Ped Planner, so those at the front and back will have vests. We will also have some
help from GABA and PBAA Bike Patrol.
There are also rides scheduled for Green Valley and Saddlbrook. Take a gander at the website for details on these rides.
Hope to see you all there!
